President Bola Tinubu has joined Nigerians, the people and chiefs of Ile-Ife, and the wider Yoruba community in celebrating the 50th birthday of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
In a heartfelt tribute, the President praised the
Ooni’s exceptional leadership and grace since ascending the throne at 41, highlighting his crucial role in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people in the historic city of Ile-Ife, revered as the cradle of their civilisation.
President Tinubu acknowledged Oba Ogunwusi’s wisdom, deep sense of duty, and his invaluable contributions as both the traditional ruler of Ile-Ife and a spiritual leader for the Yoruba people.
He also lauded the Ooni’s pivotal role as Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, where he has emerged as a key figure in promoting national unity, religious harmony, and supporting government initiatives.
