Tito Jackson, Michael Jackson’s elder brother and member of legendary “Jackson 5” group, dies at 70

Tito Jackson, an American legendary figure in the music industry and a key member of the Jackson 5, has passed away.

The brother of pop icon, Michael Jackson died on September 16, 2024, at the age of 70.

According to multiple reports, he suffered a heart attack while traveling from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, in Gary, Indiana, Tito was one of the ten children in the famous Jackson family.

Alongside his brothers, he helped shape the sound of the iconic Jackson 5, which became one of Motown’s most successful groups in the late 1960s and 1970s. Their hits like “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There” remain timeless classics.

Tito was known for his exceptional guitar skills, and while his brothers often took center stage, his contributions to the group’s sound were invaluable.

After the Jackson 5, he pursued a solo career, with his 2016 single “Get It Baby” featuring rapper Big Daddy Kane marking one of his most notable solo successes.

Tito’s musical legacy also extends through his sons, who formed the group 3T in the 1990s.

His passing is a profound loss for the music world, as fans and fellow musicians mourn his death and celebrate his contributions to an era-defining band and a lasting music legacy.
