Christy Ucheibe has said she is honoured to get the opportunity to represent Nigeria at a major tournament again.
Ucheibe is among the players that made the Super Falcons squad for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This will be Ucheibe’s third appearance at a major tournament after featuring at the 2022 WAFCON and the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup.
“Excited and proud to be selected for my first Olympic Games,” Ucheibe wrote on X handl. “Always honoured to represent my country!”
Among notable names in the squad are Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni and Nicole Payne, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie.
Also included are Deborah Abiodun, Tosin Demehin, Uchenna Kanu, Jennifer Echegini and Tochukwu Oluehi.
On standby are Ifeoma Onumonu and Gift Monday, Morufa Ademola and Jumoke Alanis.
The Falcons will face Brazil, FIFA women’s World Cup champions Spain and former world champion Japan.
