Dr. Ushakuma Anenga has emerged the new chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Benue State chapter.
Anenga defeated Dr Terna Dennis-Gav to emerge as chairman in the just-concluded election of the Benue State chapter of NMA for the 2022 to 2024 tenure.
In his remarks, the immediate past chairman of the association, Dr Samuel Otene, thanked members of the association for their immense support throughout his tenure and announced the winners as follows:
Dr. Ushakuma Anenga, Chairman, Dr. Charity Amai Dooshima, Dr. Godwin Ameh, Secretary, Dr Gabriel Anefu, Assistant Secretary, Dr. Patience Okpe, Treasurer, Dr. Uyina Aondowase, Financial Secretary, Dr. Mark A. C. Ogbodo, Public Relations Officer.
Congratulating Dr Ushakum Anenga and the new SOC, he said: “I congratulate Dr Ushakuma Anenga, and the New SOC.
“I congratulate Benue NMA. It is God who makes leaders.
“I wish the New SOC, Godspeed, and I solicit your support for them; even far more than the support I got.”
In his acceptance speech, the newly-elected Chairman, Dr Anenga, appealed to members of the association to quickly move on from the tension and animosity that every contest generates “and harmoniously work together to take the medical profession and our association to greater heights in Benue State.”
