Gernot Rohr’s side were held at home by Sierra Leone despite going 4-1 up at halftime only to fall to a collapse in the second half as the Leone stars pecked them back to 4-4.
Musa said “Dear Nigerians, on behalf of myself and my teammates, we are really really sorry for the disappointment of the game tonight.
We know that we made a very big mistake in the game but there is nothing we can do, that’s football. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose”.
He went further to speak “We will correct our mistakes in the next game & by God’s Grace, we will go there (Sierra Leone) and see that we do all our best to qualify for AFCON and we know that we can do it”.
Victory against Sierra Leone in Freetown on Tuesday will still be good enough to see the Super Eagles of Nigeria qualify for the AFCON in 2021 held in Cameroon.
