West Ham Worries Over Nigerian Born Ogbonna Injury

After Angelo Ogbonna’s accident during the FA Cup tie at Manchester United, Premier League campaigners, West Ham, has made many uncomfortable while waiting to discover the severity of Angelo Ogbonna’s ankle injury.

The Nigerian-born Italian defender limped off the field 16 minutes into the game after twisting his left ankle while thwarting a shot from Anthony Martial. West Ham manager, David Moyes worries that this could be a major injury.

A stretcher was called for after Ogbonna let out a scream as he laid stricken on the old Trafford turf but he rejected the stretcher and limped back to the dressing room with the assistance of a member of the West Ham medical team. He was replaced by Issa Diop.

Ogbonna is assigned to have his ankle examined and Moyes fears that the 32-year-old Ogbonna faces a spell on the sidelines.

Exquisitely, Ogbonna has been one of West Ham’s best players this season and has been a major factor in their good form under Moyes.

He has formed a solid partnership with Craig Dawson in a team that is sixth in the Premier League and making a genuine push for Europe.

 

West Ham has few days until their next fixture against Sheffield United next Monday.
