Al Nassr recently confirmed the departure of the Super Eagles captain from their club on social media.
“Thank you Nigerian falcon, wishing you all the best in the future! @Ahmedmusa718,” the club tweeted.
Ahmed Musa’s exit comes as a surprise given he was only two years into the four-year deal he signed with the Saudi club when he joined from Leicester City in 2018.

In his spell with them, he featured 58 times scoring 11 goals with a further 14 assists while helping the team win the 2018-19 Saudi Pro League and the 2019 Saudi Super Cup.
All fingers point to a return to European football for Musa with the player has expressed his desire in an interview with ESPN.
“I have always wanted to return to Europe, and I feel that this is the best time for me to make that move.
“I want to get back to playing at the top level again against the best players in the world,” he stated.
His next club is not particularly clear at the moment but a move back to Russia could be on the cards for the pacy winger. Turkey also seems a probable option too with Musa being linked with a move to Galatasaray.
One thing is certain and that is Musa wouldn’t be short of interests in his services with the player having already cut it in the Nigerian Professional Football League first with JUTH FC then with Kano Pillars, the Netherlands with VVV-Venlo, Russia with CSKA Moscow where he enjoyed some of his best football winning three Russian league titles, one Russian Cup and two Super Cups during his time there.
Although his spell in England with Leicester wasn’t as successful, that should not deviate the fact that Musa has done it at the biggest stages of all in the World Cup. He also has an AFCON winners medal to his name too.
Europe seems the most likely place Ahmed Musa will be continuing his football career but wherever he ends up going, he still has a lot left in the tank to offer at the age of 28.
